Latent Trait Latent Class Analysis of an Eysenck Personality Questionnaire

چکیده
In this paper two scales of a personality questionnaire, extraversion and neuroticism, are analyzed using a family of latent trait latent class models. The items are responded to in one of three categories: “yes”, “?”, or “no”. The results show that one single measurement model does not suffice in describing the data. More specifically, the meaning of the “?” response category is not invariant over subjects.

An application of Measurement error evaluation using latent class analysis
Latent class analysis (LCA) is a method of evaluating non sampling errors, especially measurement error in categorical data. Biemer (2011) introduced four latent class modeling approaches: probability model parameterization, log linear model, modified path model, and graphical model using path diagrams. These models are interchangeable. Latent class probability models express l...
متن کاملLatent Variable Selection for Multidimensional Item Response Theory Models via L1 Regularization
We develop a latent variable selection method for multidimensional item response theory models. The proposed method identifies latent traits probed by items of a multidimensional test. Its basic strategy is to impose an L1 penalty term to the log-likelihood. The computation is carried out by the expectationmaximization algorithm combined with the coordinate descent algorithm. To the authors’ be...

متن کاملThe Comparison of Two Models for Evaluation of Pre-internship Comprehensive Test: Classical and Latent Trait
Introduction: Despite the widespread use of pre-internship comprehensive test and its importance in medical students’ assessment, there is a paucity of the studies that can provide a systematic psychometric analysis of the items of this test. Thus, the present study sought to assess March 2011 pre-internship test using classical and latent trait models and compare their results. Methods: In th...
متن کاملScreening for personality disorders: A new questionnaire and its validation using Latent Class Analysis
Background: We evaluated a new screening instrument for personality disorders. The Personality Disorder Screening (PDS) is a self-administered screening questionnaire that includes 12 items from the Personality Self Portrait (Oldham & Morris, 1990). Sampling and methods: The data of n = 966 participants recruited from the non-clinical population and from different clinical settings were analyze...
